Save the Arctic Stamp
When the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf fractured, it drained the freshwater lake, causing changes in its unique ecosystem and in the feeding and migration patterns of polar bears, whales, walrus, and seals. These changes have affected native people’s ability to hunt them. Furthermore, entire villages along the Arctic coastlines there are in danger of being swamped and therefore uprooted. The native people of the Arctic view global warming as a threat to their cultural identity and survival.
